Growing up in Turkmenistan, her opportunities to choose dancing as a career were limited. Nevertheless, dancing became a passionate hobby which she carried throughout her life dipping her toes into different dance styles including ballroom and latin.

Vee started learning Salsa in 2001 in Holland while being a post graduate student. Her first teaching experience happened by accident - she was trying to show a few newly learnt steps to her friends. In 2003 she moved to UK and as soon as opportunity arose, she started to teach on a regular basis.
“Everything about this dance is fun and wonderful: music, steps, moves, improvisations and most of all the people who share the same passion for the dancing.
It is very rewarding feeling to be able to share the skills I’ve got with other people and to see those smiles on your faces during the class time!”

Despite being thrown in at the deep end with an improver level class because “you can dance, you can go in that level”, she fell in love with the style and hasn’t looked back. Since then, she has expanded her dance repertoire to include Bachata, dabbled in Kizomba, and been part of several Salsa and Bachata performance groups.

Emma took her time developing her dancing and in 2017 joined the teaching team at Salsa-Asi, where she taught alongside some of the SalsaSitti instructors, as well as others. She has formed some strong friendships from those she has meet through dancing, including her SalsaSitti partner (in crime!) Vee. She enjoys seeing others develop and passing on her knowledge and skills, with a particular emphasis on the technical aspects of dancing (earning her the nickname of Miss Whiplash from some customers!)

Upon his return to the UK, Carl was looking for a new hobby when he remembered how much he enjoyed dancing, so in 2018 he started to attend salsa evenings with Rasa (Salsateca, Bromley) and Salsa Wild (in Dartford). One fateful evening, arriving early to salsa, he saw bachata class and fell in love with the dance. Joining the performance team at the start of 2019, he debuted his first bachata show in Rochester, and if that was not special enough, it actually fell on his 30th birthday!

Half way through 2019 his love for bachata became something Carl wanted to share - so, he started working closely with Rasa and Dren to learn not only the techniques and history of Bachata but also how to build a class and routine for teaching. During this time Carl was dancing more than 4 times a week learning from instructors all round Kent as well as attending congresses and festivals in the UK and abroad.

Carl is very passionate about this beautiful dance and ready to share his skills and passion with all of you!

He proved exactly why it doesn’t matter when you start to dance – all that matters is how much you enjoy it:

“I was first introduced to salsa by my nephew’s wife, before then I had never danced a step. Since then, I have learnt a lot about myself and, of course, salsa. Apart from the dancing I have met a lot of nice people along the way and eventually started to teach. Now I have been teaching it for about a year. The dancing I thought was impossible and now here I am teaching it… that’s a big WOW from me! I hope it wows you enough to come down and join in the fun!”

Georgina then chose to do her personal medals, following on from that her UKA diploma.

“I find teaching so rewarding. I love that you meet everybody from all walks of life and some of my closest and best friends are those who I met at Salsa. It really is an incredible community to be part of!

My favourite or even my passion is Rueda, it reminds me of being on a fairground ride and I love the element of fun and inclusivity that it brings to the dance floor!”

Coming from a technical background in Software Engineering, he has helped the team in a range of technical matters, from developing the website to facilitating technology and ambiance on the Dancefloor
